Call for Papers

For an upcoming issue of Kural, we invite articles under the theme “Sāhitya in Carnatic Music.” This issue seeks to explore the literary and poetic dimensions of Carnatic music, including aspects such as the relationship between poetry and musical composition, the role of language and prosody in kṛti-s and other compositional forms, and the contributions of composers and vaggēyakāra-s.

We would be grateful if you could kindly encourage the research scholars and M.A. students of your esteemed institution to contribute articles for publication in the magazine.

Submission Guidelines:

•⁠  ⁠Articles should be original and unpublished.

•⁠  ⁠Each article should be between 800–1000 words.

•⁠  ⁠Articles should be submitted as a Word document.

•⁠  ⁠Font: Gentium Book Plus

•⁠  ⁠Font Size: 14

•⁠  ⁠Diacritical marks should be used wherever required.

Selected articles will be published in Kural free of cost, with the objective of encouraging academic engagement and providing a platform for students and scholars to share their research with the wider Carnatic music community. We would greatly appreciate the support of your institution in disseminating this call among interested students.
